Last Week Wasn't Bad
We actually did do our working out last week -- it wound up being Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, but we did it. I think this week I might try following the stuff that came in with the DDPYoga kit. Yanno, the 13-week schedule?
On a good note, I did weigh myself two weeks ago -- 262.2. Got weighed today at the doctors office -- 257.3. Now, to you, that's not much. It's only 4.9 pounds. But to me, someone who is very overweight (technically morbidly obese...or deathfat lol), that five pounds is a step in the right direction!
I'm drinking more water, and although I'm not to the watching what I shove in my face, I am looking at just how much of it.
Seven more pounds to the first goal!
:D

Week Behind
Last week was NOT a week conducive to working out.
Monday: dinner with friends at their house; meaning you can't just leave cause "I gotta go get sweaty."
Tuesday: Valentine's Day. I know it's not much of an excuse, but we spent a couple of hours making sushi and being all lovey. Shut it.
Wednesday: MY BIRTHDAY! Yeah, I make a big deal out of my birthday. Level'd up to 39! Tom and I both got home, and we were chillin on the couch, deciding when we were going to go to dinner. I just wanted Gianni's spaghetti (mmmmm...*drool*), and he wasn't ready yet. No worries -- just snuggled on the couch, playing on our respective phones. There's a knock at the door. He gets up to go get it, dog's freaking out, and I hear voices. I assume it's Tab and Hope.
I look up to see my sister, my mum, my niece, and her girlfriend walk in the door!! They drove almost an hour just to come see me on my birthday and surprise me. I love them. They drive me batshit crazy most days, but I love-love-LOVE them.
My husband, when he wants to, is VERY good at keeping secrets :) He and my sister and my mum planned the whole thing!
Thursday...yeah, Thursday wasn't good. We ate at Taco Bell, and I tried the new Naked Chicken Chalupa. Wasn't bad, a bit spicy. Got home, was just feeling run down, so we vegged on the couch. 10.30pm, my stomach was not a happy camper. So I took some Tums. 11.30, I ended up dragging a trashcan into the bathroom, just in case. I never did throw up, but from 11.30 to almost 3am, I was not on the toilet a grand total of about 10 minutes -- I tried to go back to bed twice, and that didn't work. I was finally pooped out (pun intended) a little after 3, some pounds lighter and almost a book more well-read.
Friday was hard to sit and I just did not feel good. So, we decided we'd start again on Monday (that would be today).
Although, I do need to decide if I need to have my hand X-rayed from football.
Fuck, these upper levels are getting harder.
Back to yoga'ing tonight!!

Week One Done!
Friday night, neither one of us wanted to workout, so we kinda cheated a bit -- we did the Wake Up part of the yoga. Only 10 minutes, but we did do it.
That's a good sign, right? When you want to at least do some sort of exercise, and you actually do it?
This weekend was a relaxing one. Was supposed to have a 31 Party on Saturday morning, but no one was able to come (boo, you whores lol). Saturday night, we got to see a bunch of mounts from a couple of different African hunting safaris.
Now, before you get all up on your high horse, this is not going over to hunt just for sport. You can't just shoot at anything. The meat is used for sale and for peoples in the area, and it's pretty strict as to what you can or cannot shoot. The animals were gorgeous, even mounted.
We got to post up at Denny's like the good old days, and as we were getting ready to be finished, there was a group of 8-10 teenagers, coming in to do what us old fucks did back in the day: have food and fun. I kinda miss those days. :)
Sunday was sleeping in and making sushi (ERHMAHGERD! SERRSHEE!) and watching WWE's Elimination Chamber. It was a good weekend, Tater.
So. Tonight we're supposed to have dinner with friends, so looks like our workout regimen might move to Tuesday/Thursday/Friday this week.
Well, shit. Tomorrow's Valentine's Day.
And then my Leveling Day.
Hope your week is awesome!

Hurting...
Surprisingly, not from our workouts. See, over Super Bowl LI weekend (Feb 4 & 5 for you non-footballers), a group of people I'm good friends with had a Glory Days Football Game. It's called that because most of them are ex-semi-pro football players and their friends. Yanno, like "the glory days"?
Saturday, we went out and painted the field. Now, if you know me, you know I'm a fatty athlete. I've played soccer, basketball, softball (beer league), ran track, and cheerleading. But I've never just "thrown around the ol' pigskin." So I got a crash course on catching and falling. There is a way you can fall and not hurt yourself -- which I accomplished beautifully.
It was the catching of the football that I didn't do so great. Jammed my thumb, which wasn't so bad. But then I had to jump for a ball and I caught it...not so well. It hit my middle finger, and while I didn't hear or feel a pop, it immediately started hurting.
By Sunday morning, the underside of it was bruised and it hurt to move both it and my thumb. Again, if you know me, you'll know I'm as stubborn as the proverbial mule. I splinted the middle finger, and buddy taped it once it was in my glove.
I'm able to pop the knuckle where it meets my hand, but the rest of the finger still aches something fierce, along with my thumb. Like aches all the way up into my wrist. Almost a week later, I'm debating on whether or not I should go see a doctor about it.
But, I'm looking forward to doing our workout tonight, and that's good, right?

Day Two - A Repeat
Tom and I did a repeat of what we did on Monday -- Breathing, Touchdown to Diamondcutter, Touchdown to Side Bends, Lunges, and One Foot to Lunge (or something like that).
We may have done the same thing we did Monday, but even after just one day, we were both able to bend a little farther, go a little deeper, and last a bit longer.
We've worked out that we're going to do the Beginner Beginner until we can get through it all (although, it's an hour), then we'll go onto the Beginner 13 Weeks.
It's hard, I'll give you that. And today I'm a little bit sore. Course, not sleeping last night did not help one iota.
I'm bushed today, guys and gals. And since it's freezing outside, today would have been a perfect day to snuggle up on the couch and watch movies.
Ah, the adulting is strong with this one.

Keeping Track
I so don't want to overload myself with being healthier. I've found that if I make gradual changes, I stick with them better. For example:
I'm documenting what I'm eating, but not the caloric intake. It's helping that I'm only interested in eating smaller amounts of the not-so-good stuff and larger amounts of the better-for-me.
Monday night, I had a large bowl of lettuce, carrots, and red cabbage salad, with about a half hand of shredded cheddar cheese and about 2 Tbs of ranch dressing.
Yesterday, I had:
2 strawberry poptarts
grilled chicken go wrap and a broccoli cheese potato from Wendy's
unsweetened tea
a large salad of lettuce, carrots, radishes, peapods, and red cabbage, with cheese and about 2 Tbs of catalina dressing
a sandwich and a half of chicken salad with 2 pieces of swiss cheese
a can of diet dew (and surprisingly, not even the whole can).
So far today, I'm on 2 strawberry poptarts, and 16 oz of half hot chocolate, half coffee (no additional add-ins).
Tonight, we are on Day Two of DDPYoga. I do have to get a new tape measure (and seam ripper, but that's cause I lost mine), new batteries for the scale, and some more water (our water is gross--smells like a pool most of the time).
I have the myfitnesspal app, but I'm just kind of indifferent on it. This seems easier, for whatever reason! lolol
How do you keep track of what you're doing/eating/whatever?

It Starts with A Choice
** Warning: there are some photos later on that are NSFW. I'm in a bra and leggings. **
Well, we did our first night of DDPYoga last night (2/6). Now, I will preface this with two things:
1. Neither one of us has ever done yoga, and
2. We're not in shape (we're not counting round...).
So, we did the Breathing section, and then we started in on the Beginner Beginner section.
30 minutes later and three sections in, we were both sweating and ready to be done. I was ok with that. It's first night, and I didn't want to overextend myself and hate it completely. It's actually kind of fun.
Now, here comes the NSFW stuff. I took photos of my husband, but he requested that I don't post his. He took pictures of me, and I'm going to post them here. There's a front view, and a back view, and neither of them are pretty. They're kind of gross. If you can't be constructive, just don't be mean.
It's me -- the rolls, the chub, the fat; the big ass, the flabby arms, the gut, the double chin. All of it.
And we're making it better.
